Response to ways education will be changed by 2020

I think there will be more virtual classes in public schools.  Colleges seem to be overrun with virtual schools and classes.  More and more adults are enrolling to online colleges and getting online degrees in their free time.  Let's face it, a person in their 30's trying to switch careers with a family and bills to pay can't go to normal classes from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm because they have to work.  Online or virtual classes allows busy people the flexibility to go to class whenever is convenient for them.  There are even online institutions offering to go at your own pace.

I would love to see more students involved in their own education.  As a teacher, I understand that there is a curriculum and standards that must be met.  There are certain aspects of math that have to be taught, as decided by CCSS and NCTM.  I believe that students should be able to decide if they want to learn everything delineated by these standards.  There were 50 different subjects in math that were taught in the past.  Now, because of Common Core, there are much less being taught.  In other countries, like India, they teach less aspects of Math (16 subjects).  Their students perform much better on tests than our students.

By 2020, there will be jobs created that aren't around today.  With the advent of the iPhone and tablet, we now have applications or APPS.  There are jobs and careers associated with designing and implementing these iPhone Apps.  These jobs didn't exist 10 years ago.
